The beach! You just never know what you’re gonna get at the beach. I’ve experienced 60 degree, cold winds during the summer on the west coast AND I’ve experienced 70’s, gorgeous and sunny in late November. You just have to roll with it! Well, I had two family sessions scheduled in Half Moon Bay at the beginning of September and it was absolutely a beautiful day on the coast. Couldn’t have asked for better weather.
Because I’m a planner, haha, no really I am (those of you that know me well are laughing right now, thinking, really? Tiffany, a planner? …. naahhhhh), I suggested to Elise last year that this year we shoot for a beach session, since we’d never gone that route before! I’ve been photographing for the Fabers since 2007, so we’ve tackled quite a few locations, but honestly there are still so many to hit in the years to come! Anyway, I suggested the beach this year and maybe next year we choose a spot in San Francisco. I’ve got it all planned out in my head, so that we get variety in their portraits each year, haha. Chris and Elise roll with my ideas and we always have a great time with pics!
If you have been to Half Moon Bay, you’ll know that there are several beach entrances you can use to access the beautiful ocean, all along highway 1. So I met the Fabers at one of the entrances near the cross section of 1 and 92, which seemed to be the beach that everyone else was at too, LOL! BUT, with a little angled creativity and minimal photoshop work, you would NEVER know just how busy that beach was!
My absolute favorite shots on the beach are always the ones of kids/families walking/running along the ocean because the facial expressions I get are real, natural and so much fun! I think it’s safe to say the Fabers had fun =)
