I couldn’t have asked for a better wedding to close the wedding photography chapter of my career. Vince and Alexa were a dream couple to work with! Their original wedding date got caught in the midst of the covid chaos, unfortunately, so after twice rescheduling due to the pandemic, we finally made their special day a reality – July 16th, 2022! I said this in my social media post and I’ll say it again here. It was a bitter sweet end to photographing weddings. We all disembarked this day with feelings of HAPPINESS – that their day was filled with so much love and support / RELIEF – that after a much longer engagement than originally anticipated, the years of planning and replanning were executed beautifully and perfectly / and / SADNESS – that the day and celebration were coming to a close.
I want to thank ALL of my brides and grooms over my first 19 years of business, that have entrusted me (& my co photographers) to capture and document one of the most momentous occasions in their lives. We have enjoyed diving into the details, the beauty, the uniqueness, the love, the happiness and the emotion of each wedding, documenting every piece of the event. I started my business in the wedding industry, when I was 19 years younger, not married yet myself, with no children, and I find it a bit poetic that as my life changed over the years; I got married and we started our own family, I began the shift in my business. When my first son started playing sports and was in preschool is when I knew it was time to step back a little, in order to have more flexibility to enjoy my family on the weekends. As my kids have grown and I’m in a different place in life now, I don’t see this closure to wedding photography as the end, but the beginning of a new journey.
My focus will remain in the family portrait realm and I feel so fortunate that many of my clients today, were originally wedding clients, and now I’m documenting their growing families and milestones, as I’m experiencing and documenting the milestones within my own family. So, I let my photography journey continue, with a road not quite as wide, but just as exciting and sweet as when my journey began in 2004. I look forward to continuing to capture my clients (& future clients) families for many years to come! Cheers to Vince and Alexa … best wishes to you two and I’ll be waiting in anticipation, for the day you call for me to document the next chapter of your lives too <3
