Must be because I’m now so deep in years, into photographing, that I lose track of time, but Sean and Erika were married in May 2012. I was sure it was 2011, but hey, I was close right? They were so much fun to work with and had a gorgeous wedding at Poppy Ridge Golf Course in Livermore, CA. It is ALWAYS so neat for me to hear from my past brides/grooms down the road, whether just to say hi or to let me know they are expecting or have had a baby! And the fact that Sean and Erika thought of me for their first family portrait was an honor =)
Erika contacted me shortly after Collin was born and we discussed scheduling a session for when he turned 6 months old. Now I’ve always said this stage was typically pretty easy because the big milestone is that they can sit on their own, right? But usually they’re not mobile quite yet, so there isn’t a lot of chasing going on during the session, haha. AND the best part is 6 month old babies are so happy and carefree! They love everything! They smile at everything! They laugh at everything!
Okay, now take all this and wrap it up into my perfect little client, 6 month old Collin…..but multiply the happy, smiley part, by 10. And add “loves to move hands, arms and legs in excitement!” LOL! No joke, MY face hurt after the session because he was so stink’n cute and oooooober happy, that I was smiling and laughing so much, causing my cheek muscles to actually become sore! Normally I’m a little sore in my back or my arms or legs from running all around, getting in crazy uncomfortable positions to capture a great angle, etc, but nope, my discomfort was actually in my cheeks this time, LOL!
It was such a pleasure to photograph for Sean, Erika and Collin and I’m super excited to see them again in the future for other milestones!!!
